Estonian Archaeology / Eesti Arheoloogia
Estonian Archaeology / Eesti Arheoloogia is an official publication series of the Chair of Archaeology of the Institute of History and Archaeology of the University of Tartu, issued since 2006. The necessity for a new and through review collection on the prehistoric, medieval and modern times of the Estonian area in English language grew out from the lack on general surveys on Estonian archaeology, since the last one until 2006 was issued in 1982 in Estonian, the last in English in 1932 by Harri Moora. The editor-in-chief is Valter Lang and the editorial board involves a row of internationally acknowledged archaeologists from Estonia as well as Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Russia. By now three of the planned six-volume series has been published: Archaeological Research in Estonia 1865–2005 (2006), The Bronze and Early Iron Ages in Estonia by Valter Lang (2007), The Migration Period, Pre-Viking Age, and Viking Age in Estonia by Andres Tvauri (2012). The Estonian as well as English texts of the published volumes are available online: http://www.arheo.ut.ee/teadus/sari-eesti-arheoloogia
