Completion of the Master’s study will provide the second level academic degree in history. Graduates successfully completing the Master’s study enhance their necessary qualities for working in the positions requiring knowledge of the speciality of history. Besides, they acquire preliminary skills in research work as well as an overview of the development of disciplines and up-to-date trends. In comparison to the Bachelor’s study, the Master’s study is more research-based and a major focus is placed on the methodology of active study and seminars.
In the framework of the curriculum of history it is possible to specialize on archaeology, archival studies, Estonian history, general history, contemporary history and art history.
Alongside completing the curriculum of the teacher of history and civics, by means of the mandatory subjects in both the Bachelor’s study and Master’s study, students of history will receive the most in-depth education in history and basics in civic studies in Estonia.
